Malta-Georgia sign double taxation agreement
23/10/2009 |
|
An agreement for the avoidance of double taxation and the prevention
of fiscal evasion has been signed between Malta and Georgia.
Georgia is becoming more integrated into the global trading network
as it develops into an international transport corridor. Major
industries of Georgia include tourism and agriculture.
This agreement aims to benefit entrepreneurs from both countries as
business between the two jurisdictions will be able to take place
with more ease. Double taxation treaties aim to eliminate the double
taxation of income or gains arising in one territory and paid to
residents of the other territory. It also delivers tax transparency
and exchange of information.
